Pam Jenoff*

* Clinical Associate Professor, Rutgers School of Law—Camden. Before teaching, I practiced law for approximately eight years at a large firm and in-house. I am presently the author of six novels published in at least twelve countries: The Kommandant’s Girl (2007) (an international bestseller), The Diplomat’s Wife (2008), Almost Home (2009), A Hidden Affair (2010), The Things We Cherished (2011) and The Ambassador’s Daughter (2013). I am also under contract to write two more novels for Mira and a short story to be published in an anthology by Penguin.
I would like to thank the Association of Legal Writing Directors and The Legal Writing Institute for the scholarship grant that supported my writing this article. I would also like to thank my colleagues at Rutgers, including Jason Cohen and Ruth Anne Robbins, for their helpful comments. I would also like to thank the organizers and participants of the 2011 Capital Area Legal Writing Conference for their feedback on my presentation, based largely on these materials.
