Through the ALWD Distinguished Speaker Series, ALWD provides grants to fund visits by legal writing scholars to law schools across the country. Over the course of one or two days, the scholar will provide one or more presentation(s) to students, faculty, alumni, or local practitioners drawing on the scholar’s research. The focus of these presentations is on helping legal writers become more rhetorically effective and persuasive. The ALWD Distinguished Speakers Series also recognizes Emerging Scholars. These scholars are either newer to the field or newer to publishing in the field and have written one or more exceptional articles that demonstrate their potential as scholars. For more information on the available scholars, please click on the tiles below to review each scholar’s CV. Emerging Scholars are identified as such on the tile.
