The ALWD 2019 Biennial Conference combined the success of the past with innovation. Before the conference began, the Teaching Workshops Committee hosted the annual Innovative Teaching Workshop during which participants shared and developed their creative teaching ideas and techniques with a small group in an interactive setting. The Leadership & Development Committee hosted the inaugural Leadership Academy, which allowed participants to hone their leadership skills through experiential sessions led by an expert in leadership theory and to learn from panels focused on academic and organizational leadership. Finally, the Conference continued the innovative format begun in 2017, combining inspiring invited speakers with presentations, posters, and videos from exceptional legal writing colleagues, and continued our tradition of wonderful social events and even better company.
